Legal Question in Traffic Law in Ohio
auto accident no insurance suspended liscense
I was involved in an accident where i was heading strait, I went through a yellow light and a car coming from the opposite direction turned in front of me. There was a witness who claimed the light was red. I was giving a ticket for running a red light and for driving on a suspended liscense. ( I was not aware of it before the accident it was from an unpaid ticket in another state.) I have since paid the ticket and regained my liscense. I do not have insurance but told the officer at the time that I did. What should I do? Other than this I have never had any traffic issues before.

Re: auto accident no insurance suspended liscense
If you cannot show proof of insurance at court, your license will be suspended for 90 days. You can get occupational privileges to drive.
As for the accident, you have the choice to take the ticket for that to trial. If you lose you will have to pay damages ultimately to the other driver. You could plead no contest to the ticket, but if you plead guilty you will definitely have to pay for the damages.
This is something you need an attorney for sure. You have too much to lose and this forum is not enough to guide you. If you cannot afford an attorney, have one appointed.
