Legal Question in Traffic Law in Ohio
Improper left turn citation resulting in accident...
I was involved in an accident in which I was in the left turn lane, observed no oncoming traffic, proceeded into the turn, and was struck head on by an oncoming car that was speeding. At least four witnesses were at the scene, all said that it was not my fault and the other driver was speeding. After everyone was dismessed but me, I was cited for ''improper left turn''. I got a copy of the police report. No witness statements are included. The other driver's ''stated speed'' was 37mph...the posted speed is 25mph but the police report lists 35mph as the posted speed. I plead ''not guilty'' and have a court date in May. What are my chances of proving that I am not guilty of an improper turn? What do I need to do to prepare for court?
