Legal Question in Traffic Law in Ohio
Legal Recourse?
My daughter was in an accident with another vehicle. The officer did not cite my daughter but did cite the other individual. Approx 3 days later my daughter was brought down to the schools office and given a ticket at that time and was told each party is responsible for their own damage. Our estimate was $1,200. He had his repaired for $7.00. Yes, seven dollars. When my daughter went to court for her ticket, the judge read the police report and looked at the drawings made by the officer on the scene and could not find any fault of hers and dismissed all of the charges. Do we have legal recourse to sue for any of the damages?

Re: Legal Recourse?
You always have the right to sue civilly. As usual you should never take the word of a police officer as legal advice. That's not what they do.
