Legal Question in Traffic Law in Ohio
Responsibility
In 1986 I had a MVA accident due to hydroplaning and then hitting a guardrail (denting it). There was no other damage and no one else was involved. I called the State Patrol and reported the accident. The car was borrowed. The owner had no insurance. I did have insurance, but my company said it was the responsibility of the owner of the car for the damage to the guardrail. Now the Attorney General has appointed a special counsel to collect a debt for damage to the guardrail FROM ME. 20 years later. What are my rights and responsibilities?

Your insurance company has an obligation to defend you regardless of what you've been told.
