Legal Question in Traffic Law in Ohio
my rights once pulled over
If a person is pulled over at what point does an officer have to enter your vehicle. when you have a simple traffic violation such as failer to wear a saftey belt. initial stop was no front plate but was not charged.

The officer can search the vehicle if there is probable cause, i.e., he smells an odor of marijhuana, sees a joint in the ashtray, suspects the items in your back seat are stolen, etc.
