Legal Question in Traffic Law in Ohio
Speeding Ticket
I got a ticket tonight, doing 49 in a 35. I am a driver for domino's pizza, and dont want to get points on my license. What would be the best thing to plead. Also I will be out of town for the court date, can I set a new one.

Re: Speeding Ticket
Request a continuance in writing stating the reason for your request and when you will be returning. They will most likely give you a new court date. At your new court date, try to get there early and talk to the prosecutor. Tell him your concerns regarding points and your job. If he's not a jerk, he might drop it down to a non-moving violation with no points. Just be prepared to pay your fines and costs THAT DAY. Should not be more than $250 - $300 at most.
