Legal Question in Traffic Law in Ohio
Speeding violation - my rights
I was clocked using laser by a city cop. He was sitting in the parking lot of a movie theater and clocked me while I was on the main road. The road is a new road and they have recently posted the 25 mph signs. The cop pulled me over and he stated I was going 38 in a 25. I explained I didn't think I was going that fast. He wrote me a ticket, so I asked to see the speed on the laser gun he clocked me with. He refused my request and told me that I didn't have that right. Do I have the right to see the speed he says he clocked me going?

No. Alot of people think that you do have a right to see it. If you can get the cop to show you, great, but he does not have to and most likely, he wont.
