strategy for defending disobeying police signal at court
Last week I was followed by a police car with siren on when I was on my way back to home late at night after a whole day's work. (Later I realized it was because that both of my headlights were broken and I incidentally turned on the beam light.) But I thought it was a firefighter and stopped immediately for a while for it to surpass me. When It failed to do so I continued to drive and throught maybe I was in its way since there is only one line. The siren was once again on and I stopped again for a while: noticing nothing happened I continued to drive on. I drived very slowly in case if it is a police car it could stopped me very easily. The siren was off this time and I thought it had been a false alarm and continued with my way. Until the next traffic light when I stopped I was called out by a policeman. He gave me a ticket for the beamlight and told me I need to go to the court for disobeying his signal. I am a foreigner and it was the first time for me to be stopped by a police. Please advise me on what is the possibility I could win on the court. How I should behave in the court to best defend myself. Thanks a lot.

You definitely need to plead not guilty to the failure to follow his command charge. That is an actual crime for which you can be deported.
You must contact an attorney to make sure you don't get convicted of that. The high beam ticket is far less important.
