Legal Question in Traffic Law in Ohio
Suspended License
My daugther hydroplaned on the freeway. In order not to hit a wall, she turned the wheel to the right and hit a pickup truck. The pickup driver had a suspended license. Both my daugther the the other driver got a ticket. Is she at fault?

Re: Suspended License
Yes. Even though she hydroplaned, she is liable for a failure to control her vehicle or a similar charge. If she pleas to it, make sure it's a no contest plea. A no contest plea can not be held against her in a separate proceeding for damages to the truck. A guilty plea can. The fact that the other driver had a suspended license will ahve no bearing in her case, other than leniency from the judge.
Re: Suspended License
His unsuspended license does not affect at all his or his liability.
