Legal Question in Traffic Law in Ohio
I was given a ticket today in North Royalton ,Ohio for talking on my phone. Being unaware of this law because I am from a diffrent city that does not have this law. Could I lower my cost or eliminate the points if I tell the judge that I am not from the city and that I was only aware of the no texting law? If not is there any way I can somehow lower the cost?

Sure, go ahead and first tell the prosecutor of the circumstances before you plead and this prosecutor has the discretion to recommend lower costs (or a different violation where pts. are not given) to the judge for you. However, there are no guarantees that the prosecutor nor the judge will cooperate.
