Legal Question in Traffic Law in Ohio

wrong speed on ticket

I was issued a ticket for speeding. The highway patrol man stayed that I was cited for driving 58 in a 45 zone. However, when I got home he wrote 65 instead of 58. I called the patrol post and talked to the officer he stayed that it was a simple mistake and he would change his ticket before he submits it to the court. Is it legal for him to change his copy of the ticket? Does this void the ticket?

Re: wrong speed on ticket

It is legal for him to correct a clerical error before submitting the citation to the court.

It is also to your advantage that he do so as the fine will be less.
