Bank won't comply with courts orders
My friends husband died in November leaving a truck that wasn't paid off. She has been making the payments. Now she needs to renew the tags but with the title being in her husbands name the DMV won't allow her to get new ones. She has a court order that the title be changed over to her name but the bank still hasn't complied with the court order. She is making payments on a truck that can't be used. Can't this bank be held in contempt of court? Is there some kind of account that she can make the payments without the bank being able to repo the truck until they do comply?

Re: Bank won't comply with courts orders
I assume that the bank only has the 1st lien on the vehicle. She should take a copy of the will, a death certificate, and the court order to the county title bureau, and get the plates. The lien holder has no responsibility to do it.
