Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Ohio

Cash Settlements to an estate

My husband died ,leaving no will and some debt, and enough insurance for his burial. I moved in with my daughter and left our mortaged property,My Grandson is making the payments. The credit cards and small loan I simply mailed his death certificate to.An Attorney contacted me and said I am entitled to a ''Asbestoes Settlement'' of 20 to 30 thousand dollars for my husband,But I must open an estate for my late husband. What does this involve,As I have no money, only mortaged property,Also would I have to pay all his debt that was forgiven upon his death.

The filing fee would probably be around $200.00, along with whatever the fee would be for an executor's bond. I would make sure about that settlement before doing this. Get a face to face meeting with the attorney who contacted you.
