Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Ohio

Please Help Me

To whom it may concern,

I have been trying to get information regarding the laws on making out a will for a married couple with no children.

I found this site called Find Legal Forms.com and it directed me here to ask this question.

How can that company just charge $10 for what they call a legal form for a will? When I called an attorney here in Ohio that wants to charge me $125! for the same form.

Do the forms that are on line are no good and I should stay away from them? I do not understand why there is such a big difference in price.

Unless of course the forms on line are of little use to Ohio Law? If so, I hope no on has been sued over it yet?

Anyway Please help me.

I need to know what to do.

I am 51 years old and I think its time I made a will.

I am happily married and have no children of our own. If my husband and I were to die together on a plane we would like our belongings to go to our nephew. Is that so complicated? Please help me understand the laws regarding wills.

Thank you for your time

Re: Please Help Me

My thoughts on the issue are as follows:

I don't sell forms, I sell my time, my experience, and my ability to create a relationship with my clients that enables me to solve problems or concerns my clients have. My documents are customized to the client, and therefore not "forms".

A form is a piece of paper that has words on it. Those words may or may not fulfill the legal requirements to be effective. Similarly, those words may or may not be related to the wishes, hopes, fears and concerns of the client.

It is up to each individual to decide whether to use a form or to seek counsel from an attorney. Whatever an individual chooses is fine with me, but please understand that a form is just that - a fill-in the blank piece of paper that cannot listen to you or counsel you. That may or may not be what you want.
