Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Ohio
my dad passed way
My dad passed away recently and he had a car that is only in his name. It is not paid off and there is a loan through a bank for it. Am I, the son, legally responsible for the debt of the car?

If the loan was in your dad's name alone, then you will not be responsible for the loan. However, since the loan is probably a secured loan and is attached to the car, you would have to do a loan assumption through the bank if you wanted to keep the car.
