Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Ohio
deceised family member
Mother passed away three years ago. Did not go through probate court. Two sons survive. One moves away after passing. Share and share alike will but who knows. How would I find out about Bank accounts ect. that Mother had?

Dear Dave,
Normally, you would write letters to all the banks where you think she might have had accounts, but generally the banks will not release such information without the probate court having appointed an executor. Short of that, you might run your mother's name through the Ohio Secretary of State's unclaimed funds website.
