deceased an only child parents deceased left no will. heirs on paternal side 17 first cousins.maternal side 2 second cousins. is the estate divided 50% to paternal side and 50% to material side or equally between heirs

Estate is divided equally among heirs of equal degree of relationship. Based on information you provided, there would be 18 or 19 equal shares, depending on whether second cousins had same parent who was a first cousin. If yes, they divide 1/18. If not, each gets 1/19.
