Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Ohio
Entry relieving estate from administration
I filed for ''release from administration'' on my fathers estate. It is a small estate and the proceedings took all of 15min. The estate included a Bank of America checking account, an IRS refund check and a Walgreens refund check.
The judge issued three ''entry relieving estate from administration'' forms. One for each ''asset'' and all three identical. There are no specific orders on these forms other than the itemization of how the assets are to be divided amongst the distributees.
The judge directed me to Bank of America where the distribution process could be completed. At the time he was unaware that there are no BAO locations in Ohio. I called BAO but I couldn't get any straight answers. All I was given was a P.O. box number and a fax number.
If I mail/fax everything to them will they really handle the distribution process? If so, how can I get confirmation that they will do so as they could not give me a contact number?
I am weary about sending all of these documents without ever speaking to someone. Is it possible that they will reject the orders or sit on the documents for an extended period of time?
Should I just file as adminisrator and handle it myself?

Re: Entry relieving estate from administration
The bank will need these court documents to transfer the accounts if they are indeed probate assets. You need to get in contact with personnel at the bank that handle the probate issues and find out exactly where to send the court documents...I would not just send it to the home office and wait for them.
