Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Ohio

Estate Executor problem.

My Aunt was named executor of a cousins' estate. The house has not sold and has only had 1 showing. She told a family member he could move in and just cover utilities and taxes. They are about to move in any day now.

But we told her of someone who wants to buy the house. We told her first about this person a few months back. the potential buyer wants to rent it until May when the lender says she can get a loan by. She is willing to pay $500 a month (more than the 150 to cover taxes).

Now the executor won't talk to the potential buyer. she says she made a deal. she also claims the potenial buyer can't afford it. (which she would have no way of knowing).

can she do this? should we call the attorney involved?

I would call the attorney involved and let him or her know about the potential buyer. Your Aunt has a duty to the estate as executor and the attorney can make sure she is acting in the best interest of the estate.

Yes, you should. Also, a beneficiary can write a letter to the court where the estate is being adminstered to explain the problem.
