Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Ohio

Executors

My parents live in Ohio. I have been told that the executor for a will (in Ohio) must be a resident of that state. Is this correct? Thank you.

Children can serve as Executors for their parents, even when living out of state.

Re: Executors

An executor need not be an Ohio resident to act in the official capacity. However, the court will require the executor to post a bond, even if bond is waived by the terms of the will.
