Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Ohio
My father lived in Ohio and died without a will. The bank that held his mortgage is forclosing on the house he shared with his wife (not my mother).Under Ohio law, Am I, as an heir, responsible for any difference in money between the loan amount and the selling price? I am not a cosigner on the mortgage or any joint account.

Simply put no. Your fathers estate would need to be probated if there are assets for distribution. So a family member would need to open an estate in your county probate court to begin the process.
