Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Ohio

Foreclosure and inheritance

My home is in foreclosure. We have 90 days left. I just found out that I am to receive money from my late great Aunts' estate. It will not be here in time to save my home. Can they come back and sue me for any back money owed?

Re: Foreclosure and inheritance

If your home sells in foreclosure for less than the debt owed then the bank has a right to collect the deficiency from you.

It is possible that they could reach the inheritance.

You should seek advice from a local attorney ASAP.

If you are interested in saving your house you may be able to negotiate with the bank to wait until you get the money so that you can save your house.

This answer is general information and is not considered legal advise nor does it create an attorney client relationship. You should seek advice from a local attorney for your particular situation.
