Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Ohio

Grandfather's will

My Grandfather passed away recently. He wrote his will in 1997 and left his vehicle to my father. In 1999 he purchased a new vehicle, but did not update the will with the new make and model. Does this mean that my father will not receive the vehicle?

Re: Grandfather's will

If your grandfather's will specifically identified a vehicle by description, then that bequest lapses if he sold the vehicle. If he just said "my automobile" then your father would inherit whatever automobile he owned at the time of your grandfather's death.
