Some assets do not pass through probate for example if they are transfer on death or joint with right of surviviorship. If you have checked the deed records and the property was solely in your mother's name then you can file exceptions to the estate inventory. There are very strict time lines for doing this so you need to act quickly and hire an experience probate attorney.
