Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Ohio

Power of Attorney

We have a power of attorney for healthcare for my mother-in-law and now we need one for her other affairs, bills, will etc. Do the forms that you can get over the net be used, and who needs to sign them, are they legal? Should we just go ahead and get an attorney to do this.

Re: Power of Attorney

You are looking for a Durable Power of Attorney. The document would be signed by your mother-in-law in the presence of 2 witnesses and a notary public. The Notary Public may serve as one of the witnesses. The witness cannot be one of the agents named in the doucment. There is no way to answer your question without seeing what documents you are pulling off the web. I would recommend an attorney. The typical fee usually isn't very much for a power of attorney.
