Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Ohio

Probate and Stock sale

My aunts' estate lawyer has not sold her stock yet, 6 monthes after her passing...and tells me that the stock is still worth what it was at the time of her death, not for taxes, but actual value...could this be true? If not, my sister and I have lost over $30K due to the stock market dropping... Thanks!
