Questions: Regarding Estate in Probate Court for the State of Ohio
Summary - My grandmother recently passed away. Her attorney submitted a form to Ohio Probate Court and the estate will be in probate for the next 7-9 months. The state appraiser estimated the estate at the value of $140,000.00 (one hundred and forty thousand dollars).

Current Debt minus outstanding Medical Bills, credit cards, etc. - $11,000.00
The funeral cost is $7,000.00 and a bank loan balance of $4,000.00 (2nd mortgage she taken out to re-roof her home) and the bank is demanding immediate payment of $4000.00 balance. My parents have no money or assets (they rent & don't own a home or real-estate and they live pay-check to pay-check.

How can my grandmother's debt be resolved when the estate is in probate?

Why will the estate take 7-9 months in Ohio probate court? � and shouldn't the State of Ohio be responsible in responding and corresponding with the creditors since they have restrained the estate in their probate court? Thank you!

The debt is of the estate, not your parents.

If creditors do not want to wait , they have remedies in probate court.
