Reassignment of beneficiary
If changing your beneficary on an insurance policy, IRA, or retirement plan is desired, is it required that your spouse be notified, be present, or approve?

General contract law says that you can change the beneficiary as you wish, without your spouse being present or agreeing. I seriously doubt that Ohio law is different.
