Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Ohio

Reieving my half of trust willed to me.

My grandmother, whom cared for me all through childhood, and I, in turn at an older age, chose, to care for her. Her daughter, my Aunt, after years of disruption and promises to care for her, finally in the year 2000, came to Ohio, packed things up took what she wanted, auctioned off the rest. I lived in that house for 29 years with my grandmother. There have been good times and bad times, but that comes with any family. Nov. 22 my grandmother passed away in Texas. She was creamated and brought to Ohio Dec. 9 for Services to be held on Dec. 11. It was a long process of grieving for me. On Dec. 13 th, my Aunt came to my fathers house and handed me a copy of the will. I set a side,, as to she was nothing but cold towards me the whole time she was in Ohio. The 2nd, section , states -After the death of the Settler, the Trustee or her attorney shall distribute all property then belonging to the principal of the trust, as follows, 1/2 of said trust to ( ), free of any trust; 1/2 of said trust to me, in trust; until the death of the said, me.What do I do to get my 1/2 of what the house sold for. She is insisting on me giving her my S.S.N. Wants me to just let her invest it, said in emails for me to sign it over...help me,,,??

Re: Reieving my half of trust willed to me.

You need to see an attorney to review the Will to properly advise you. It appears your funds are held in a testamentary trust account for your life. It depends what the distribution section says as to what rights you have to actually receive any of the funds. You don't have to sign it over as you state. The Trustee will invest the funds in accordance with fiduciary standards. The trustee will need your social security number for the tax return eventually.
