Residence Requirements of Executor

Does Ohio require that the Executor of a Will be a resident of the state of Ohio?

Several Probate Courts require that the executor live not only in the state of Ohio, but reside in the County in which the estate is being probated.

No, Ohio does not prohibit a non-Ohio resident from being an executor, but the Court may require such person to have an in state person to receive process and communications. An Ohio court cannot otherwise exercise jurisdiction over a non-resident.
