Trusts and who is allowed to see their content. (Family)

My husbands father died after making a Trust. Neither his daughter or my husband were allowed to read the Trust by his step-mother. She and other family members are Trustees along with a Columbus Bank. They receive 1/8 interest in a building monthly of $510 and we have just learned that a large Columbus Company is going to buy the building on or about April 1. Neither have been contacted and neither on has ever seen what their father's intentions were in the trust. What they are entitled to after the step mother dies. She lives quite comfortably on the trust and neither one of the children ever asks what will someday be theirs. One is 59 the other 57. Both feel the sale,based upon prior estimates is low approximately $100,000. What course of action could be taken to find out what is in the Trust. I told them if they don't manage their business, no one else will and you cannot go back later with regrets. My suggestion is check Probate in Muskingham Count Courthouse for documents which were filed? I say he can see what he is entitled to inherit...

If the Trust was funded before death, that is, transfering the assets into the trust before death, there would be no probate. As a residuary beneficiary of an irrevocable trust you have certain rights. Suggest you contact the Columbus Bank trustee and they will provide you with a copy of the Trust. If they refuse, you can go to the Probate Court and ask them to take jurisdiction to so that you can compel.
