Updating a Will

Do you need to have a Attorney present for updating an existing will, or do you just need witness's to sign-off and date.

You do not need an attorney present to update your will. You just need two witnesses to watch you sign the will and to sign as witnesses in each other's presence.

However, if you are updating your own will without an attorney, you may or may not do it correctly. The consequences of updating your own will without the help of an attorney -- writing a will other than for yourself is practicing law and prohibited by Ohio law -- can far exceed what an attorney would cost to see that it is completed correctly.
