Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Ohio

Hi, my name is vickie and my mom passed away in september and she had my grandmothers ring and it was to stay in the family and the ring did not belong to my mom or my dad it was a half carrat diamond ring and my dad took the diamond out and had it put in another band and gave it to my brothers girlfriend, is there anything that i can do abouth this? my mom told me and her brother that i was to get the ring and my dad did not want me to have the ring.Thank you so much.

Did she have a will? Look up descent and distribution statute.
