Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Ohio

Waiver of Probation

My grandpa died in May. Yesterday I rec'd a form from local attorneys telling me to sign a ''waiver of probation'' regarding his will which they state says I would receive whatever part of his personal belongings my dad would've rec'd had he still been alive. The will is dated in 1976 and if you knew my grandpa you'd know he would've updated his will since then. I don't want anything from my grandpa's estate unless he wanted me to have something. The thing is my uncle is the executor of the will and I don't trust him not to try and pull something over on me. Is this worth the time/money having a lawyer look over a simple form, or just sign it and be done with it?

Thank you

Re: Waiver of Probation

The form you have is a Waiver of Notice of Admission of the Will to Probate. If you sign it, then your uncle will not have to serve you with that notice by certified mail. As to what you will receive, you must go to the court, and read a copy of it.
