My wife recently passed away and had a credit card that i knew nothing about! what is my responsibility?

If you did not sign the credit card agreement or use the credit card then you should not have personal liability. The credit card companies will try to convince you otherwise.
Any estate assets would need to be used to pay the credit card. You should consult with an attorney regarding her estate. You should be sure to ask about the six month creditor statute of limitations.
