Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Ohio
will, probate and investment funds
If my investments ( mostly CREF) have named beneficiaries, will they need to go to probate court when I die? What exactly does need to go to probate court if you have a will?

Re: will, probate and investment funds
Only assets you own individually go through probate. Any assets you own jointly with a right of survivorship, and assets where you have designated a beneficiary, go directly to the co-owner or beneficiary at your death outside the probate process. Assets owned by a trust at death also avoid probate.
