Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Ohio

Wills & Estates

A family received farm property from

a deceased brother. The deceased

brother wrote a letter and specifically

identified one of the daughters to

inherit this same property after they

had ''passed away''.

The ''will'' of the current farm land

owners states that when they ''pass

away'' all assets will be shared

equally. Which document will prevail?

Will the named daughter have to

share this property equally with other

siblings?

Re: Wills & Estates

If the "letter" is not executed with the formalities of a Will, required by law, it is not binding.

Your question needs clarification before I can answer it more fully. It would be helpful if I could look at the documents.
