Legal Question in Workers Comp in Ohio
My daughter works for a restaurant in Akron OH. She was told that at the 10/18/09 staff meeting that all employees would have to sign a form saying that they can't file for unemployment benefits if they get fired/laid off. If you don't sign the form, you will be fired. Is that legal?

If she signs the form, the provision is probably not enforceable. And firing her for not signing it may constitute wrongful discharge in violation of public policy.
