modify decree of dissolution of marriage

can a child custody order be fought without a lawyer. If I can show her statements in the decree are false? I have had full custody since May 10 2007. She abandoned him December 2005 although there was still some contact.

Short and sweet ... is it possible to do so? Yes. Is it advisable? No. I believe that to be true whether she is represented or not; however, if she does have a lawyer you should absolutely retain one yourself (or expect to lose the battle).

Sure, you can represent yourself, but if she's got an attorney you should consider getting one yourself. Or, if you aren't sure you fully understand her argument and evidence, from a legal perspective, and how to counter it, then again an attorney may be well advised.
