Legal Question in Criminal Law in Oklahoma

RE: suspended sentence, unpaid fines, moved out of state?

So, what do we do if a person has received a suspended sentence for an assault and battery (1st offense), they still owe about $2000.00 to the state for fines and fees and they moved from the state of Oklahoma to another state. A warrant has been issued. Drivers license suspended. How do we go about handling this without having to travel back to OK and/or serve jail time?

You could contact an attorney in the area where the warrant has been issued. The attorney may be able to arrange for the payment of the fine and avoid jail time. Mr. Stone's reply is mostly accurate. It is my understanding that the state bills you for the costs of extradition, that is one or two officers flying here and back home plus the costs of lodging etc.

You could just wait until they arrest and extradite you. This would save you the bother and expense of traveling.

You must travel here to be arraigned and to be sentenced on the violation. Intermediate appearances are avoidable. Give me a call and I'll explain the whole shebang.
