Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Oklahoma
Bankruptcy
I would like to kow if you think that filing bankruptcy would be a good choice for. I am 22 years old and owe $8,759.00 in debt. This debt is made up of credit cards, a cell phone bill, a home phone bill, and an apartment complex. I am constantly falling behind on my credit card payments. The interest, late fees, and overlimit fees are killing me. Unemployment caused me to fall into such debt. I have just started working at the beginning of August following several months of unemployment. Your advice would be very much appreciated.

Re: Bankruptcy
Thanks for your question. At your age, I would like to see if you couldnt come out from under this debt without bankruptcy. The debt is not really very large. Have you explored moving back home with parent(s) and trying to see if the credit card compay will suspend interest while you get caught up. Plus there are credit rehabilitation companies that might assist you in getting payout arrangements made with your creditors. Call me if you would like to talk about it further.
