Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Oklahoma
Would bankruptcy be best for me?
Several months ago I received a preapproved credit card to which I transferred several other balances to enjoy the lower payment and interest rate. The credit card company delayed payments of the transfers for months while continually reasurring me that the payments had been sent. They also refused to honor a check they sent me to cash. My bank I cashed the check on in turn withdrew the funds from my checking account to cover their expenditure. The card company has lied to me on several occasions and I feel trapped. Would filing personal bankruptcy be best for me to get to rid of this albatross as I do not have the funds to pay them off?

Re: Would bankruptcy be best for me?
You may be able to sue the credit card company for damages, if you can prove what you say.
I strongly suggest you discuss this with a lawyer before you make any decision. If you can't afford a lawyer, ask Legal Aid for help. Most bar associations also have panels of lawyers willing to work for reduced fees.
Do not make any decision to file bankruptcy until you have explored all the other options, and only a lawyer can review your entire situation and suggest what your chances are.
Good luck!
