Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Oklahoma
Filing bankruptcy again
I filed banko in 1996 in the state of Kansas, I can not file again for 7-10 years I think. However, if I move to Oklahoma can I file banko again before the 7-10 years are up? If not, what state can i move to in order to fiel banko again before the time limit?

Re: Filing bankruptcy again
Thank you for your question. If you filed a chapter 7 bankruptcy you cannot file again for 7 years in any state. If you filed a ch. 13 you can refile. Chapter 13 is the personal reorganization feature in bankruptcy. Visit with the attorney who filed your previous bankruptcy to determine if you are eligible to file a chapter 13.
