Legal Question in Business Law in Oklahoma
Can I sell someone's property?
I performed computer repair service for someone and billed them for the service. I still have their property in my possession and have failed at attempting to collect payment. It's been 60 days and I want to know if it's legal for me to sell their property to recoup my cost or not? There is not written contract, verbal only.

Re: Can I sell someone's property?
There are specific Oklahoma laws governing this situation, and specific facts may make certain statutes apply and others not apply. The statutes are all found within Oklahoma Title 42 entitled "Liens." Certain notice requirements may be necessary. The fact your contract is oral could, but should not, pose a problem.
