Re: age of consent

This question would have more to do with morally and a desire to respect one another than any legal any aspects but I admire and respect the fact that you have a desire to do what is right. So, I will attempt to provide some clarification to help you with this important decision.

Consent is an agreement, approval or permission for some act; however, the "compentency" of the consenting individuals and other important factors may play a part in this act; or your "purposes" for such an act.

In order words, you are also dealing with maturity, responsibility and accountability; not just the act itself.

Additionally, the "age of consent" is defined by statute as 16 years, but it would be more responsible to include your partner's age of "capacity" and "reason."

Therefore, we also recommend that fully you understand the "reasons" why you make life decisions, particularly, those that are emotional and physical, because these types of decisions may affect you long-term.
