How long after a person has been molested by and adult can you take them to court and sue them?

This question is too vague to respond appropriately or completely but I can make this comment:

There have been many cases that have been taken to court without statutory or civil limitations, particularly, if the wrongful acts occurred during childhood and the victim is now an adult.
