Power of attorney
Is it legal for the power of attorney to remove personal belongings from a home when the person is not yet deceased?

If the person has "full" power of attorney to handle the person affairs AND the individual is mentally incapacitated AND unable to handle his or her affairs, this person would have legal authority to handle the personal belongings as well. It would be best to answer this question by reviewing the power of attorney in his or her possession and reading it carefully to see if this clause is included. If not,then this behavior is inappropriate and not legally protected.
