Legal Question in Constitutional Law in Oklahoma
Speeding ticket rights.
I was ticketed for speeding 40 in a 25 mph limit. The officer gave me a ticket for speeding and I would like to know if an Oklahoma City police officer has the right to sit in his police car on private property (a business no longer operating) so that he can catch speeders. I have seen him sitting at this location many times. Thank you for your time and help.

Re: Speeding ticket rights.
There is no legal problem with the procedure you describe. The crime occurs on the city streets. The fact that the officer sits on private property does not affect that circumstance. If the owner doesn't want him there, it is up to him to put him off. One who does not own the property has no legal complaint.
