Required Post-dated checks?

I have paid a credit card bill down to half of its balance. The law office who is handling the collections wants me to send them six post-dated checks. They say I have to or they will proceed to a court case. I have paid monthy on time for the last six months. I do not feel comfortable sending six checks. Do I have to do this? Thank you.

Of course you do not have to do this. I suggest that you tell them that you will not do this, but will continue to pay it out as agreed.
