Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Oklahoma

Can you be sued for the same thing twice?

I have a furniture loan, and have had for several years at the same place. I have been sued for this account a few years ago. The plaintif was granted the judgement. I have been paying the payments. I have been late at times. Now they are suing me yet again for the same stuff. My question is this. Can a person be sued twice for the same thing, by the same people who sued the first time?

No. You should check carefully, however, to make certain that the debt is the same debt. You definitely want to hire an attorney if we are talking about any significant amount of money. If you do not hire an attorney, you want to file an answer to the petition pro se contesting the validity of the debt.
